Advisory Council

At 42 Change Makers, we believe in the power of young people to create peaceful, purpose-driven change in their communities. But behind every movement are people who guide, support, and strengthen the vision. That’s where our Advisory Council comes in.

This volunteer team exists to help us grow wisely and sustainably. Council members bring their insight, skills, and network to help us expand our reach and deepen our impact with youth across Kenya. Whether we’re launching new community projects, developing workshops, or telling our story more powerfully — our Advisory Council ensures we’re not doing it alone.

42 Change Makers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Indiana, USA, with active operations in both Indiana and Kakamega, Kenya. We are committed to developing Kenya’s next generation of inclusive leaders by creating a network of changemakers who defy division and drive impact. We achieve this by connecting youth from all 42 tribes of Kenya with life-changing opportunities in academic excellence, civic leadership, and entrepreneurship.

What Advisory Members Do

Advisory Council members serve in flexible, skill-based volunteer roles — giving what they can, when they can. This is not a formal board or time-bound commitment. Instead, it’s a relationship built on shared purpose.

You might help by:

  • Reviewing and offering feedback on youth leadership programs

  • Advising our team on strategy or operations

  • Sharing your network or making key introductions

  • Coaching our team on digital media, storytelling, education, or nonprofit development

  • Helping with fundraising or grant ideas

We also turn to the Advisory Council for brainstorming, accountability, and inspiration when big decisions come up.
