Volunteering

For many years Kenya has been struggling with ethnic divisions which often overshadow the potential in young people. Kenya’s youth (13-25 years old) make up over 60% of the population, yet they face deeply rooted ethnic divisions, limited economic opportunities, and inconsistent access to quality education. It is against this challenges that 42 Change Makers stands as a unifying and empowering force. We believe that when youth from diverse backgrounds come together with purpose and guidance, they don’t just transform their own future…they transform communities.

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Indiana, USA, with active operations in both Indiana and Kakamega, Kenya committed to developing Kenya’s next generation of inclusive leaders by creating a network of changemakers who defy division and drive impact. We achieve this by connecting youth from all 42 tribes of Kenya with life-changing opportunities in academic excellence, civic leadership, and entrepreneurship.

Help Us Build a Generation of United, Empowered Youth Leaders in Kenya

Be Inspired

When Braxton Fibanda from Isongo Junior Secondary school walked into our peace leadership workshop in Makunga, Kakamega, he barely made eye contact. He had heard of his friends who survived the 2008 tribal conflict, lacked access to basic educational resources, and was uncertain of his future. But when he joined his peers on the “What Connects US Field Trip”, Braxton stood tall before a camera, delivering a passionate speech on peace, and youth unity. Today, he’s a 42 Change Makers Peace Club leader in his school, a youth advocate, and a Change Maker. Stories like Braxton’s are why we exist.
