Kenya’s youth (13-25 years old) make up over 60% of the population, yet they face deeply rooted ethnic divisions, limited economic opportunities, and inconsistent access to quality education. It is against this challenges that 42 Change Makers stands as a unifying and empowering force. We’re bridging worlds and generations.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Indiana, USA, with active operations in both Indiana and Kakamega, Kenya committed to developing Kenya’s next generation of inclusive leaders by creating a network of changemakers who defy division and drive impact. We achieve this by connecting youth from all 42 tribes of Kenya with life-changing opportunities in academic excellence, civic leadership, and entrepreneurship.

“From a Spark to a Flame: How One Idea is Empowering Youths Across Kenya”
In the small Makunga market center in Kakamega, Kenya, a young girl named Immaculate Ayuma from Shikomari Junior Secondary School, stood before her peers and led a debate on youth civic research leadership. Just a year before, she had almost dropped out of school due to lack of opportunity and community support. But through 42 Change Makers, Kenyan Youth Shield Our Peace Initiative, she found mentors, built leadership skills, and discovered her voice. Today, she leads her school 42 Change Makers chapter/club and mentor others to do the same.
Immaculate’s story is not unique, it is one of many others we are empowering. At 42 Change Makers, we believe in the power of every young person from every tribe to rise, lead, and transform their communities.
