Kenya’s youth (13-25 years old) make up over 60% of the population, yet they face deeply rooted ethnic divisions, limited economic opportunities, and inconsistent access to quality education. At 42 Change Makers, we are bridging those gaps by connecting youth from all 42 tribes of Kenya with life-changing opportunities in academic excellence, civic leadership, and entrepreneurship.
42 Change Makers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization registered in Indiana, USA, with active operations in both Indiana and Kakamega, Kenya. We are committed to developing Kenya’s next generation of inclusive leaders by creating a network of changemakers who defy division and drive impact. We achieve this by connecting youth from all 42 tribes of Kenya with life-changing opportunities in academic excellence, civic leadership, and entrepreneurship.

In a quiet rural village outside Kakamega, Kenya, Ngai George, a bright and determined young man, once believed he had no future beyond subsistence farming. That changed when he joined 42 Change Makers. Through our entrepreneurship support program, Kenya Climate Smart Agriculture Project (KCSAP), he launched NGAI’S JIKO PELLETS a successful recycling business that produces eco-friendly, energy-saving cooking pellets from sugarcane waste. This business is addressing deforestation, rising cooking costs and youth unemployment in his community.
Through his initiative Ngai George has become a community youth leader, student’s motivator, a journey to encourage peace and unity among youth from traditionally rival tribes in Kenya. His story is just one of hundreds, stories of Kenyan youth once divided by tribal tensions, now finding a way to get united by purpose.
